Zhangjiang National Innovation Demonstration Zone is one of the earliest national innovation demonstration zones, consisting of 22 branch parks, such as Zhangjiang Core Park, Caohejing Park, Zhabei Park, etc. and 124 parks in a form of “park within park”, presentinga layout of “Big Zhangjiang” zone, with the area expandingfrom 25km² to 531km², and forming several innovation belts across Shanghai that radiate theYangtze River Delta Region.
The leading group of Zhangjiang National Innovation Demonstration Zone is the agency of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, with the mayor of Shanghai City as the group leader; A deputy mayor serves as the director of the management committee, and one related bureau-level leader acts as the deputy executive director in charge of daily operations; the leaders of the committees, offices and bureaus in Shanghai take the role of the members of the management committee.
